When highlighting your hair, do you do the bottom too or just the top of your hair?

actually i know someone who didn't highlight all the way to the bottem, and it looked great. But get this professionally done, b/c if you mess up it looks reallly weird.
You can highlight just the top. It is usually referred to as a ';Partial Foil';. Depending on what shade you choose for the highlights, It gives you the same look as if the sun did it. The top layer of your hair gets the most sun. Heir go the highlighting on top. You can make it look more obvious by doing them more streaky. Please go to a salon to have this done. Anytime someone messes with a do it yourself highlighting kit, it usually looks just that way. ';do it yourself'; Good Luck!
you're supposed to highlight all of your hair.
No it wouldnt look bad at all.If you look at someone who does not color their hair its only natural that the ';outer'; hair is always lighter then the ';under hair due to the fact that the sun naturally lightens your ';outer'; hair because it is more exposed than the ';under'; hair so I say go for it !!
