What color highlights are good on black hair?

i have black/dark brown hair and i want to get highlights. what color highlights should i get. i want them to look natural so no blue or anything like that. also, whats the diffrence between a full head of highlights and a half head of highlights?What color highlights are good on black hair?

half head shows when your hair is down, and whole shows when you have it down and when it's up. basically, whole is the entire way through your hair, and half is the top few sections

Okay.....i definately think you should get carmel they look great with dark hair if its your first time getting streaks i suggest.....a horseshoe(type) because if you dont like it you wont have to redye your whole head......just get the front part fixed professionally done....my daughters got hers done back in february and they(carmel) are still bright and pretty ......(look new) also Forget about getting red......its fades away very fast........faster then all of the others........and i know your doubting a carmel color in dark hair but its really really really pretty

a nice dirty blonde. Darn though because I was reading the question and I was thinking red but then at the end it said a natural look so boo hoo no red.
You don't get them. It wouldn't look right. My friend put thin highlights in her black hair and it looked like she had gray from a distance. Don't do it!

go about two shades toward brown, this will be a medium brown, this will look really cute.

i have really dark burgundy streaks through mine so it's only really noticeable when i am out in the sun....not too sure about highlights though
