What highlights should I do on my black hair?

So, I have jet black indian hair cut in soft layers, just below shoulder-length. I want to keep the black base, but I want to add some volume by adding highlights. What colors will suit me? (I have dark brown eyes and olive skin tone.)


I have been considering: fire-engine red, electric blue, plum, violent, blue-red, magenta, mahogany...What highlights should I do on my black hair?

Plum! That would look so fabulously awesome! I wish my parents would let ME highlight my hair. My friend is blonde but she got hot pink! Not like stripes down her hair though, some of her bangs and then like an under-layer of the rest of her hair. So when you put it up in a ponytail, it looks amazing. You can still see it when its down too though.
I love black hair! I wouldn't get any highlights! Natural hair is the best!

I personally think the black with the red highlights would look sharp
def fire red, ive tried it n i have the same color hair as urs, looks real good, blue's good too but wont show as well
To make it really cool add electric blue and blood red! It would look awesome!

PLUM! ive died the ends of my hair purple and i loved it! it would look great
