If I have black dyed hair, and were to get highlights, would I need to bleach them first?

I want to ger brown highlights. but im pretty sure they wont show on dyed black hair? Or would they? And also, what color highlights look best on black hair?If I have black dyed hair, and were to get highlights, would I need to bleach them first?

Yep. You would have to bleach first. No color takes on black hair.
i dyed my hair black a few months ago and hated it and wanted highlights instead but bleach will only turn it orange...go to the store and buy something called Color Oops by Loreal...if you want to keep the black and just have highlights on it then do this...buy the color oops and use it..it will take out all of the black but ur hair will still be kinda dark-medium brownish...i personally think a bright vibrant crayon-like red looks great on black hair so if u would want that then dye ur whole head the crazy red color and then put a whole bunch of black lowlights on top of it
