Would a full head of highlights make brown hair look blonde?

i want to go blonde but have been told that i shouldnt really dye all my hair blonde as it can damage it. im a medium to dark brown colour but i want to go a dark blonde and was wondering if a full head of highlights would look just as good as a full colour or not.Would a full head of highlights make brown hair look blonde?

The more highlights ylou have put in the more blonde you will look and therefore the more damaged your hair will be. You should try using semi permanent hair dye then it will go the colour but will not ruin your hair as it tends not to have bleach in. using semi-permanent you could also do the whole head if is the damage you are worried about. Hope that makes sense .... good luck XD Ps . you will also need to use blonde shampoo you know the dye one cause then it will make it as soft as your normal hair and protect from sun etc .
highlights is dye (or bleach) its just not on every hair. it will damage the hair that is processed. if you have more hair highlighted than is not, the blonder it will look.
just get loads of lighter highlights through your hair. it will make it look a lot lighter. blonde hair is a lot more dry btw, i got mine out straight after i had it done %26amp; it runined my hair anyway.
