Can i put in blonde highlights on black hair?

i have natural black hair..if i go in the salon can i get blonde highlights put in all in one day?Can i put in blonde highlights on black hair?
they will have to process it a lot, but it can be done. the stylist may or may not depending on the condition of your hair. if its damaged, she may think the chemicals will cause more breakage. go to a GOOD salon- not super cuts pr anything like that. Its possible to put blonde into virgin black hair, but it will take a while to lift the colour out and u may not get a really white blonde.

yes you can. but i suggest getting red highlights instead. it looks great on black hair. especially if you're asian. not like gross rocker red. more like maroon red. good luck!
Perhaps a different color like auburn, but diffenately not blonde. If you want to be funky then blue highlights would be neat. I saw it done on a show called ';Ten years younger'; on the learning channel, and her hair turned out really cool.
Blonde highlights on black hair would perhaps look lovely but before you do ask the hairdresser her opinion.
Yes, u are smart to go to the salon. It will take a couple of hours but hopely worth it.
ya sure you can! u go to hairdressers and tell them the colour you want they will then show u a shade chart and see which colour blonde you like and tell them.... but they will use bleach on it first!!unles you go for a high lift blonde which is 12/0 on shade chart

Oh yes, but be careful.


I have very dark brown hair, almost black, and died it dark red, with blonde streaks to do face painting at the local fair.


A DIY application, and it looked fine on the day.


The red stuff washed out nicely, but left with golden streaks that needed dying out with black stuff.


What a palaver.

Yes you can but you'll need it bleaching. You could try a naturaliser if you dont' want it to be too striking.

I would seriously doubt it could be done in one day. I would be leary if someone tells you it can be done that quick. %26lt;Most likely your hair will turn orange not blonde. And no one looks good with orange hair. Its really hard to lighten black hair, it generally takes mroe than once visit to the salon to get it done.





And like the others said, defiantely go to a good salon, not pro cuts.
I dont think they will be blonde.. they'll be more orange and/or brassy. I used to get my hair highlighted and dyed... but now that my hair has gotten so dark, it doesnt turn blonde anymore... at least not without several tries, and a lot of drying out of my hair! Dark hair looks great... they can probably put some sunkissed looking highlights in your hair, without it being blonde.
Maybe u should get more than one color not just the blonde!?!?
Yes - but I would recommend that you lighten your base first. Maybe have your colorist dye your hair light brown first %26amp; then apply the highlights.


Your colorist will know best - talk to them.
hey, no it will go ginger trust me i am a hairdresser! u dont want your hair to turn out dreadful so what i suggest is to, have caramel and light brown first, and then go back after that and have blonde highlights in then. it will look great because your hair will then be multi-tonal and a natural looking blonde.

Nooo, don't do it. Blonde highlights on black hair don't look good at all. Lighten your hair to brown first, or do as someone else suggested and get red highlights.
